TRACK NOTES

Anyone who’s been to a Mòd, even today, or a cèilidh in times past will have unthinkingly battered out the first chorus and verse of this song without ever having known the rest of it. It is however a beautiful ‘parting glass’ – making a heart-connection with emigrant communities and urging us all to look for the good to keep hold of in ‘strange times’. MacFadyen was based on the southside railways that I travelled all through my time in Glasgow, and he’s become one of my favourite characters in this album, flaws and blessings all.
